“Aviemore’s best hotel”
“We felt more at home than at home”
Not our words but two guest quotes which, we feel, say more about our small, friendly hotel than we can.
Cross the threshold of The Rowan Tree and you leave behind the hustle & bustle of everyday life. A warm welcome awaits you in the Spey Valley’s oldest hotel.
Some 300 years old, many of the original features have been retained as the hotel has been sympathetically modernised over the years. Our 12 characterful, well equipped, bedrooms and comfortable, cosy lounges with open fires combine with our personal service to ensure that you enjoy your stay to the full.
The Rowan Tree is set amid stunning scenery overlooking Loch Alvie and offers a calm, relaxing haven superbly placed for the area’s many attractions and activities.
The Whisky Trail, Highland Wildlife Park, Landmark Centre, Steam Railway and the RSPB’s Loch Garten Nature Reserve are all within a short drive.
Skiing, walking, climbing, cycling, fishing, sailing, pony trekking, gliding, golf or off-road driving – everything is on our doorstep. Our guests also enjoy privileged entry to a nearby, members-only, leisure club.
Whatever you do, our hearty breakfasts give you a good start and our 4-course table d’Hote dinners round off your day to perfection. We offer good, fresh, home-cooked food, individually prepared and accompanied by great value wines and real ales. All in a relaxed atmosphere.
To sum up, we’d like to quote another of our guests:
“Wonderful atmosphere – like visiting friends”
