About Airds Hotel

The Airds Hotel and Restaurant started life as an 18th century ferry inn for those on route to Lismore Island. Today it is a prestigious, small, luxury hotel offering outstanding service, beautiful and sophisticated décor and with a restaurant of international repute.

It’s 4 star grading does not tell the full story. This is an hotel where leisure facilities relate entirely to the beautiful, romantic countryside surrounding it -  ideal for walking and cycling. What The Airds does best is to ensure that whenever you return from your daily activity you can look forward to romantic, relaxing and luxurious hospitality.

Two lounges, both with log fires, encourage you to curl up and read or enjoy conversation with friends over a coffee or tea. Tea may consist of simply a pot of tea (your choice from a wide range of loose tea) or a full afternoon tea including finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam, shortbread and fruitcake.

Our conservatory faces towards the loch and is the perfect spot for tea or perhaps an aperitif whilst watching the sun set over the Ardmanurchan Peninsula.

The restaurant serves modern European cuisine in a romantic setting and with stunning views across Loch Linnhe to the Morvern Mountains. The cuisine is to AA 3 Rosette standard and has benefited from numerous awards including Scottish Hotel Chef of the Year (Scottish Chefs’ Awards) and the Medaille D’Or for Outstanding Dinner Service with Hotel Review Scotland.

The fixed price dinner menu offers a choice of starters, main courses and desserts and Paul Burns, a Master Chef of Great Britain, prides himself in offering high quality vegetarian options given sufficient notice.

Alternatively, lunch service offers an opportunity to enjoy the same quality cuisine without the expense. The a la carte lunch menu provides a choice for all palates with both fish and meat dishes represented.

The luxury bedrooms are all individually appointed with designer fabrics and wallcoverings while most have VI Spring beds to ensure a perfect night’s sleep. All benefit from flat screen televisions, DVD players and free to view satellite TV as well as  Wi Fi broadband.

For a truly romantic and luxurious break you may wish to stay in a Suite. These offer a little more space and benefit from a larger bathroom offering a separate walk in shower in addition to a bath.

The hotels’ beautiful lawned garden is surrounded by flower beds and again, overlooks the loch with stunning views across to the mountains. This is the perfect spot for a drink or a light lunch. You may even choose to play a little croquet on the croquet lawn (from Sept 07).

There are many activities available to you and many sights worth visiting and the Reception staff will be delighted to discuss with you and arrange suitable activities during your stay.

Whilst Port Appin is definitely off the beaten track you may be gratified to know that Oban, with its typically Scottish atmosphere, many interesting shops and ferry terminal to most of the Western Isles, is just 35 minutes drive. Fort William, outdoor capital of the UK, is 45 minutes drive.
